Mara Petrova graduated from the State Academy of Music majoring in Composition under Professor Vesselin Stoyanov and Piano under Professor_ Pancho Vladigerov_. She specialised in Choral Conducting with Professor Marin Goleminov. She taught at the Institute for Music and Choreographic Specialists. She wrote articles. She edited song collections. She composed in a variety of genres. Her works were performed in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Poland, Russia and Switzerland and won prizes.
