Georgi Arnaoudov graduated from the State Academy of Music majoring in Composition under Professor Alexander Tanev. He also attended Bojidar Spasov’s Contemporary Music Special Class. At the same time he attended summer courses given by Bryan Ferneyhough (UK) and A. Mayr (Italy) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence (Italy), as well as the International Composers’ Workshop led by Ton de Leeuw (Netherlands). In 1985 he was appointed teacher of music theory subjects at the Lubomir Pipkov National Music High School in Sofia. Since 1995 he has been teaching at the Theatre Department of the New Bulgarian University.

He wrote works for dance theatre and modern ballet, as well as chamber and symphony orchestra music. At the same time, he made researches in the field of the music anthropology. He also took part in multi-media interdisciplinary projects. His music is representative of contemporary searches in the new Bulgarian music after the 80s of the 20th century and has received recognition at authoritative international forums. He is the winner of a number of prestigious international awards:
Grand Prix of the European Broadcasting Union (1985),
The Golden Harp Prize (1986),
The prize of the Jeunesses Musicales International Federation (1986)
and the Carl Maria von Weber Prize (1989)
In 2003 his Concert music was awarded the Prize at the Competition for composing a work for orchestra, in occasion of the 100 anniversary the National Music School “Lubomir Pipkov”.

Works by Georgi Arnaudov have been performed in Bulgaria, Germany, USA, France, England, Russia, Italy, Poland, Australia, at the UNESCO International Rostrum of the Composer (Paris), Dresden Music Festival, Wien Modern (Austria), Sound Roads (S. Petersburg) Sonorities (Belfast), Musica Viva (Detroit), Musica Nova (Sofia), Apollonia, Sofia Music Weeks, Varna Summer, Two Days and Nights of Contemporary Music (Odessa), Lutoslawski Festival (London), Mostly Modern (Dublin), World Music Days, etc. His works have been recorded on CD by the Gega New label. His piano works have been released on CD by Concord Records (USA) in a performance by Angela Tosheva.
