Ludmil Yotov graduated from the State Academy of Music majoring in Composition under Professor Marin Goleminov. He continued his education at the Academy of Arts in Berlin. He studied Composition with Rudolf Wagner-Regeny. From 1962 to 1977 he worked in Berlin as composer, conductor, pedagogue and member of an orchestra. He taught Theory and Composition at the Hans Eisler Conservatoire in Berlin (1977-89). Since 1990 he has lived in Hagen (Germany) and has a class of composition.

He composed stage music, orchestral and chamber opuses.
