Tzveta Dimitrova graduated from the State Academy of Music majoring in Theory of Music and Composition under Professor Alexander Tekeliev in 1997. Since 1998 she has been a full-time student in Composition at the University of Music and Visual Arts in Vienna, in the class of Professor Erich Urbaner. She was also appointed accompanist at the university. In 2003 she was appointed pianist at the composition master class of the International Summer Academy “Prague-Vienna-Budapest” in Semering (Austria). As a pianist, she was awarded prizes at the Nikola Stefanov Competition in Sofia (third prize in 1993, second prize in 1994). She recorded for the Austrian ORF and the Bulgarian National Radio. Currently, she performs in Bulgaria, Austria, Slovakia and Spain. Her repertoire emphasizes the contemporary music.
She wrote orchestral and chamber opuses; songs for children’s choir, etc. She won the Special Prize for Composition at the International Competition “Earth and Men” in Sofia (1994), the Oestig Prize for performance of contemporary Austrian music (1998), the Austro Mechana Prize for her composition Metamorphoses for piano and chamber orchestra (2002), the Theodor Koerner Prize for the piece Chameleons’ Play for piano and percussion (2003). In 1999 she was laureate of the International Summer Academy “Prague-Vienna-Budapest” in Semering (Austria) in the class of Professor Erich Urbaner (Vienna) and Professor Mihail Jarel (Switzerland). Since 2000 she has been laureate of the international project for contemporary composition “Music without Boundaries in Europe’s Heart” (Slovakia). In 2000 she joined the Austrian OEZM i AKM.In 2002 she was elected full member of the Union of Austrian Composers. “
