Vladimir Vlaev graduated from the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts – Plovdiv (B.A. 2005) majoring in Music Education and Classical Guitar under Associate Professor Stela Miteva-Dinkova. After that he studied a programme Music editor in Media (M.A. 2006) and also Composition under Dimitar Tapkov (2009). He had a specialization Elektroacoustic and computer composition under Proff. StanisЕ‚aw Krupowicz in the Karol Lipinski Music Academy in Wroclaw (2008). Vladimir Vlaev won awards as a guitarist: third prize (2001), second prize (2002, 2003) in Academic Marin Goleminov International Festival for Classical Guitar – Kyustendil as well as a composer: second prize (2002), third prize (2003) in International Festival of Classical Guitar – Gotze Delchev. He also won the first prize for a patriotic song in Rodolyubie National Festival – Panagyurishte. Vladimir Vlaev composed works in different genres, but mainly chamber music.

He has published works in UBC editions Guitar Pieces from Young Bulgarian Composers (2008) and Piano Pieces from Young Bulgarian Composers (2009).
