Nikolay Ramadanov graduated from the State Academy of Music majoring in Music Pedagogy in 1976. He studied Composition with Professor Alexander Raychev and Conducting with Professor Ivan Bakalov. He worked as accompanist at the Pleven Opera. From 1978 to 1985 he taught Harmony at the National Music High School in Sofia. He worked as a chief expert at the Children’s and Teenagers’ House for Literature and Art at the Ministry of Education (1983-88). In 1988 he specialised in Berlin with Professor Bayer. Since then he has lived in Berlin, where he has taught Theory of Music at the State Music School.

He composed orchestral and chamber-instrumental music; children’s songs; theatre music, etc. His works were performed in Bulgaria, as well as in Berlin, Leipzig and other German towns.

Works for symphony orchestra:
Three pieces (1987); Music (1988).

Works for chamber orchestra:
Six pieces (1993).

Works for string orchestra:
Cantata for voice and string orchestra (1996); Seven pieces.

Chamber Music:
String Quartet (1989); Sonata for violin and piano N1 (1986)] Sonata for violin and piano N2 (1988)] Sonata for violin and piano N3 (1995); Sonata for viola and piano (1986).
