Stefan Ribarov graduated from the State Academy of Music in 1962 majoring in Composition under Professor Parashkev Hadjiev. From 1965 to 1970 he conducted the Emanuil Manolov Male Voices Choir in Gabrovo (1965-70). He was music editor at the recording company Balkanton (1972-81) and methodologist at the DLIDU (Children’s and Teenagers’ House for Literature and Art at the Ministry of Education). He composed the music to the documentary serial The Slavonic Civilisation, a co-production of Italy, the UK and Bulgaria. He wrote music to theatre performances and fairytale dramatisations released on LP, and also to children’s programmes on the Bulgarian National Television. He arranged songs of almost all Bulgarian composers, who wrote music for children.
