Milena Shushulova-Pavlova

Professor Dr. Milena Shushulova-Pavlova graduated the National Music Academy “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in 1983. She obtained a doctoral degree in 2006 at New Bulgarian University. She has been an associate professor of piano, pianoforte, accompaniment and piano methodology since 2008 and a professor of music production and music sociology since 2016 in the professional field of Music and Dance Art, scientific field of Musicology and Music Performance. Milena Shushulova is married to engineer Rumen Pavlov and has two daughters – Pavleta Pavlova – Master of Finance and Audit, and Georgita Pavlova – Master of Business and Corporate Law.
Prof. Milena Shushulova is teaching at New Bulgarian University since 2001. In 2009 Prof. Shushulova was appointed Head of Department of Music, currently holding the same position.
Milena Shushulova is member of the Union of Bulgarian Composers in the Musicologists’ section . She is President of the “Musicians-Pedagogues” organization which is part of the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers. He is a lecturer at seminars on “Motivation and psychology of success” in Bulgaria and abroad. She participates in the organization of the SBMTD Festival-Competition “With the Wings of Music” from 2003 to today. He regularly participates in the jury of the “Orpheus’s Gift” piano competition, organized by the “Kliment Ohridski” University and the “Orpheus’s Gift” Foundation. She is a member of the Public Council for Culture and Education of the Sofia Municipality at the invitation of the Mayor of Sofia – Mrs. Yordanka Fandakova.
Over 60 of Milena Shushulova’s articles and studies have been published in prestigious scientific journals and internet sites. She actively participates in conferences in Bulgaria and Europe. He was the head of over 200 projects in the period 2008-2017 alone, most of them significant and important, with funding from various programs at the national and European level: the NBU funds – Central Fund for Strategic Development, the Faculty Funds, other funds in Bulgaria – Culture Fund, Capital Municipality Fund, European funds, sponsors and other institutions. Most projects are of strategic importance for NBU, such as: Piano master class of Ludmil Angelov – honorary professor of NBU; Harp master class of Prof. Suzana Klincharova – honorary professor of NBU; concerts of the NBU Academic Orchestra; performing arts workshops and accompanying concerts; opera and musical productions, etc.
